If more US residents decide to volunteer, responding to call from Barack Obama on Martin Luther King Day, they will have an easier time finding out causes to volunteer for nearby. VolunteerMatch, a popular volunteer networking website has launched a new Google Earth integration tool that will make it easier for millions of Americans to find a great place to volunteer.

After you visit the VolunteerMarch website and install the Google Earth plug-in, you can view tens of thousands of volunteer opportunities posted by local nonprofit organizations that have joined the VolunteerMatch network. See a video demonstrating the tool after the jump.

The VolunteerMatch network claims more than 8 million visitors each year, including millions of participants in employee volunteer programs, and has become a volunteer recruiting service for more than 62,000 nonprofits.

Firstly–”do no bad,” I love that concept! And such an important one in our modern times. Second, thanks for the information on volunteering. The internet provides so many wonderful resources. On that note, I wanted to suggest one more–I work for UniversalGiving, an online non-profit designed to connect individual to the best possible projects for donating or volunteering.
