A forum titled “National Clean Energy Project: Building the New Economy” is scheduled to be held on  February 23, 2009 in Washington, DC. It will see participation of US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as well as people from the Center for American Progress Action Fund and hedge fund manager turned green energy activist, T. Boone Pickens.

The half day event will bring together a select group of high-level government, business, labor and advocacy group leaders discuss U.S. energy policy and ways to reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil. The forum will focus on modernizing and expanding the electricity grid, integrating energy efficiency and distributed generation into operation and regulation and rapidly increasing transmission capacity for renewable energy.

I am wondering if Barack Obama may also decide to drop by, since he has been talking of a new green deal to recharge the US economy.
